Louise Bourgeois

I translated Konno Yuichi's interview with Louise Bourgeois for the new issue of the Tokyo-based art journal Yaso. While I worked on it I didn't have a chance to see Bourgeois's new works in question; her terry-cloth sculptures entitled "Obese," "Bulimic," "Anorexic." The editor-in-chief (and the journal's designer) Milky Isobe sent me the page layouts and I could see the works' images for the first time...ouf...some strong stuff here. Bourgeois's works... disturb your unconscious...to say the least. And that on a printed page! I don't know if I can bear to see them from near!
